MCB Travel fellowships

MCB have granted 8 Travel fellowships for 2009 of 7.500 NOK.  We have room for a few more grants for upcoming events throughout the year.  Incoming applications will be considered on a rolling basis as long as there is funding left.


About the MCB Travel Fellowships

MCB offers travel fellowships of up to 7.500 NOK to MCB-students. To be eligible, you have to:

  • Be a PhD-student at the University of Bergen and have a supervisor at the Department of Biomedicine, the Computational Biology Unit (CBU), the Department of Informatics, the Department of Molecular Biology or Sars.
  • Have participated in MCB-activities (courses, seminars, meetings) in the past, or attend the MCB-introductory course in 2009.

The fellowships can be used to cover costs in relation to participation at international conferences, workshops etc.

Please keep it short (1 page max), and include: 

  • your name
  • which department/unit you are affiliated with
  • some short information on the conference/workshop you plan to attend
  • your motivation for attending
  • whether or not you plan to present own results (poster or talk)
  • a simple budget
  • which MCB-activities you have participated/are participating in
